On Oct. 6, 2012, President C. L. Max Nikias addressed a star-studded gathering hosted by DreamWorks Studios to celebrate the USC Institute of Urology. Characterizing the institute as “a place where the extraordinary has become ordinary,” Nikias noted that faculty at the institute are trailblazers in robotic surgery and have pioneered many other advances in the diagnosis and treatment of urologic disorders, including a bloodless approach to removing kidney cancer and outpatient prostate removal.
