The late television executive Brandon Tartikoff was responsible for bringing Cheers, Seinfeld, Law & Order, The Cosby Show, Miami Vice and many others to the screen. On Oct. 18, 2012, the USC School of Cinematic Arts hosted a dedication ceremony for The Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Collection, a vast assortment of correspondence and other memorabilia donated in its entirety to the school by his widow, Lilly Tartikoff Karatz.

“With Brandon Tartikoff, television may have had its greatest programmer,” USC President C. L. Max Nikias said at the celebration. “He epitomized an axiom of television: ‘If you’re having a good time making it, people will have a good time watching it.’ It’s fitting that his collection finds its home at USC. Lilly’s visionary generosity will support the creative dreams of our students for generations to come.”
