On Monday, November 12, 2012, USC President     C. L. Max Nikias hosted a gala dinner to celebrate the Glorya Kaufman and her transformative gift made to create the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.  Attended by more than 250 guests, the event included luminaries from the world of dance included a performance by renowned dancer and choreographer Desmond Richardson.

In his remarks, the president acknowledged the profound influence of Ms. Kaufman’s philanthropy. “She has turned her sheer dedication to dance into a steely determination to see others benefit from its transformative powers.” he said. “USC is proud to partner with Ms. Kaufman on this journey, and we know we have found a wise companion.”
