At an event attended by colleagues, university leadership, and media, 2013 Nobel Prize recipient Arieh Warshel was lauded for his accomplishments in “the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems.” Professor Warshel is a longstanding member of the Department of Chemistry in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

“We are particularly proud that Distinguished Professor Warshel has had such a long and illustrious career at USC,” said USC President C. L. Max Nikias. “For over four decades, Professor Warshel’s forward-thinking ideas and his unique ability to combine insights from many fields have continued to expand the capabilities of computational chemistry, transforming computer simulations into a predictive tool for studying biological systems. This is the kind of path-breaking work by world-renowned faculty that our academic community nurtures and celebrates.”
