As Chicago-based Trojans ramped up for the annual football game against Notre Dame, more than 150 came to a special event at the W Chicago Lakeshore and met with USC President C. L. Max Nikias and Mrs. Niki C. Nikias.

In President Nikias’s own words, the purpose of these special events is for him “to venture forth from the USC campus and visit personally with members of the Trojan Family, to thank them and give them an inside look at USC’s ongoing metamorphosis.”

President Nikias set forth to describe the many factors behind USC’s ascendency as “one of the most dynamic universities anywhere” in the world.  His remarks focused on the core issues of faculty, students, online education, medicine, infrastructure and athletics, and concluded with the dramatic news that the Campaign for the University of Southern California is now nearly halfway to its $6-billion goal, thanks to “200,000 gifts, both large and small.”
